Our seasoned Executive Director and board-certified Medical Directors lead an expert interdisciplinary team of advanced practice professionals, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and aides who specialize in caring for people facing a serious illness or life-limiting condition. Our team is actively involved in each patient’s plan of care in order to achieve the best outcome.

Matthew L. Personius, M.D.
Title: Associate Medical Director

Dr. Personius graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1994. He went on to complete his residency in Family Practice at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. After residency, Dr. Personius and his family moved to Sonora, California, where he became Medical Director of the County run medical clinics. He now works full time making house calls for Sierra Housecalls Medical Group, Inc., caring primarily for the elderly and homebound of Tuolumne County. Dr. Personius, his wife JulieAnn, and their five children have enjoyed living in Sonora since 1997. In his spare time Dr. Personius coaches high school and club waterpolo. He also enjoys spending time working on his house and in his yard. His goal is to assist seniors with maintaining a healthy, active, independent lifestyle through greater access to needed medical services.

Michael Brodie, M.D., CMD
Title: Associate Medical Director

Dr. Brodie is a Certified Medical Director and Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice. He is also a Medical Defense Expert Witness. He serves as an Associate Medical Director for Bristol Hospice ~ California, as well as, surrounding acute and post-acute facilities.

Dr. Brodie received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Davis in 1976. He went on to complete his residency in Family Practice at Martin Luther King Jr. General Hospital in Los Angeles. In 2012, he was a nominee for Medical Director of the Year, American Medical Directors Association. In his 40 years as a physician, he has held several leadership roles throughout acute, rehabilitation and post-acute continuum of care. He is married and has six children. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
